If possible - email, mail or fax your letter on your assigned day of the month. If for some reason you cannot transmit on your assigned day, transmit as close as possible to that date. The most important thing is to send 1 letter per month.
Even though you will be given talking points each month, it is important that you relay your thoughts in your own words and style. Form letters, etc. are not nearly as effective. Be as creative as you desire, but remember – the shorter & more concise you are, the better chance your correspondence will be read and appreciated.
Never send more than 1 page!
If using e-mail, put your comments in the body of the e-mail, not in an attachment.
Make sure you sign your comments and give your address, phone # and other information on each letter in case the addressee wants to respond to you.
Remember, there is no guarantee that the Mayor and Council will positively respond to our efforts, although if we are as diligent as I expect us to be, I feel our chances are extremely good. Without your assistance, I guarantee that the new Library will not be built!
